Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on September 4 that the Yeosu City Hall workplace sports yacht team won medals in all events they participated in at the 17th National Marine Sports Festival, which was held in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, over four days until September 2.
The National Marine Sports Festival is the largest comprehensive marine sports competition in Korea, organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The event brings together athletes from across the country, ranging from elementary school students to professional teams, who compete in sports such as yachting and canoeing.

At this year's competition, the Yeosu City Hall yacht team secured medals in every event they entered: Lee Seokhyun and Kim Jongseung won the gold medal in the 49er class (two-person), Kang Hyeongjung earned the silver medal in the IQfoil event, and Seong Siyu took the bronze medal in the ILCA7 event.
Coach Jin Hongcheol stated, "Despite the hot weather, our athletes achieved excellent results through systematic training and strong teamwork. We will continue to give our best in training to achieve outstanding results in upcoming competitions."
Meanwhile, the Yeosu City Hall yacht team is intensifying their training ahead of the 23rd Chief of Naval Operations Cup National Yacht Competition, a national team selection event, and the 106th National Sports Festival.
