Yoonhong Heo, CEO of GS Engineering & Construction, recently held an event at a musical theater to communicate with employees and their families.
On September 2, GS Engineering & Construction announced that it had invited employees and their families to a special viewing of the musical "The Great Gatsby" on August 27, in celebration of the opening of the GS Art Center in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This event was organized exclusively for members of GS Engineering & Construction.
Spouses, parents, and children of GS Engineering & Construction employees attended the event, filling all 1,100 seats in the theater. Before the performance, attendees enjoyed a company-provided dinner at the in-house cafeteria located in the GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong.
Before the show began, CEO Yoonhong Heo took the stage and said, "I am delighted to watch this performance together with our employees, their families, and friends who always support GS Engineering & Construction. Since this is a beloved work around the world, I hope you can create wonderful memories and find relaxation in the company of your loved ones."
After watching a promotional video for the newly renewed "Xi" brand, which was released last year, the audience enjoyed the musical "The Great Gatsby."
In a satisfaction survey conducted after the performance, employees commented, "The CEO's greeting on stage to employees and their families conveyed his affection for the company and gratitude toward the staff."
Other responses included, "I felt proud, as if I made up for only being a husband and father on weekends in just one day. Especially, it was a day when my children felt immense pride in their father's company," and "I always felt sorry to my wife for taking care of the kids, but seeing her enjoy the performance made me feel relieved."
A representative from GS Engineering & Construction explained, "We organized this event so that our members could communicate with the CEO in a comfortable space outside of work and develop a sense of pride in the company. We will continue to create various events to enhance employees' pride and organizational capabilities, fostering a voluntary and horizontal organizational culture."
Meanwhile, since taking office in October 2023, CEO Heo has continued his "on-site management" approach, focusing on communication with employees and listening to voices from the field. At the beginning of each month, he also visits sites with all executives on "Safety Inspection Day" to personally oversee safety and quality.
