Latest Trends and Cooperation Strategies Discussed for Unmanned Aerial Industry
The "2025 Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences Unmanned Aerial System Division Committee Workshop" was held at the Aerospace Headquarters of Gyeongnam Technopark.
Hosted by the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences and sponsored by Sacheon City, the event took place from August 28 to 29 as part of Sacheon City's academic conference support project for academic organizations in the aerospace sector.
The workshop featured academic presentations and discussions on a wide range of topics, including trends in the development of AI and unmanned aerial vehicle technology, case studies and practical applications of drones in defense, disaster response, and industry, the current status of software and hardware development for unmanned aerial vehicles, and directions for industry-government cooperation and policy.

The event brought together researchers from academia, research institutes, and industry experts, who shared the latest technological trends, engaged in practical discussions, and explored future directions for the unmanned aerial industry.
Notably, Sacheon City, the Korean Society for Aeronautical and Space Sciences, and Gyeongnam Technopark signed a business agreement to advance the aerospace industry.
Based on this agreement, the parties committed to mutual cooperation with the goals of future research and development collaboration, joint event organization, and strengthening of the industrial network.
Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "With this agreement, I expect Sacheon to take another leap forward as a hub for the future aerospace industry," adding, "We will continue to promote a variety of academic support projects to strengthen the competitiveness and research and development capabilities of the aerospace industry."
