Proving On-Site Response Capabilities
in the Tabletop Exercise Category
Guro District in Seoul (District Mayor Jang Inhong) announced on September 1 that it had won the Grand Prize in the tabletop exercise category at the 2025 Seoul Disaster Medical Training Competition.
The competition, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and organized by the Seoul Emergency Medical Support Center, was held at Seoul City Hall on the 28th of last month. More than 200 members of rapid response teams from public health centers in all 25 districts participated.

The competition was divided into five categories: comprehensive training, tabletop exercise, disaster safety communication network, best case study, and cheering award. Guro District received the Grand Prize in the tabletop exercise category, which evaluated the ability to operate on-site emergency medical stations during disasters. Through a simulation closely resembling a real disaster, the district excelled in every aspect-from initial on-site response to patient triage and transfer information management.
The Guro District Public Health Center operates a rapid response team consisting of 16 members and collaborates with emergency medical centers to provide a wide range of medical response capabilities at disaster sites, including casualty identification, administrative support, triage, and emergency treatment.
Jang Inhong, Mayor of Guro District, stated, “Our training efforts have finally borne fruit. We will continue to strengthen our emergency medical capabilities to ensure systematic disaster medical response on-site and protect the lives of our residents in the event of a disaster.”
