Pass Rate for the Second 2024 Graduation Qualification Exam Reaches 90.5%
Oldest Passer in Their 80s, Youngest Only 11

A total of 4,159 people passed the second Seoul regional qualification exam for elementary, middle, and high school graduation this year.

On August 29, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that 4,596 people took the second elementary, middle, and high school graduation qualification exam this year, and a total of 4,159 passed.
The pass rate for this exam was 90.5%, an increase from the first qualification exam held in April this year, which had a pass rate of 85.6%. The pass rate for the elementary school level was the highest at 94.1%, followed by the middle school level at 90.5%, and the high school level at 90.2%.
Among those who passed the elementary and high school exams, the oldest successful candidates were in their 80s, while for the middle school exam, the oldest was in their 70s. The youngest successful candidates were Yoon Hyunseok (11 years old) for elementary school, Ahn Suhyeon (11 years old) for middle school, and Park Hyoju (12 years old) for high school.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education provided assistance such as reading and writing support for 48 candidates with visual or hearing impairments during this exam, and 31 of them passed. For four candidates with mobility difficulties, a "visiting qualification exam service" was provided, and three of them obtained their graduation qualification.
Among incarcerated candidates, 34 passed the exam, with a pass rate of 94.4%, which is higher than the average.
Certificates of passing, academic transcripts, and subject pass certificates can be obtained through the Government24 website, administrative offices at elementary, middle, and high schools, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, or education support centers.
Certificates of passing can be collected at the main building of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education until September 1.
