President Lee expressed his gratitude for President Berdimuhamedov's congratulatory letter on his inauguration and, in particular, thanked him for Turkmenistan's support in helping 59 Korean nationals safely evacuate via Turkmenistan in June, amid changes in the Middle East situation that left them stranded in Iran.

President Lee noted that the bilateral relationship has deepened and developed across various sectors since being elevated to a mutually beneficial partnership in 2008, and proposed further strengthening cooperation between the two countries. In response, President Berdimuhamedov agreed to work together to enhance both bilateral relations and ties between Korea and Central Asia, taking the launch of Korea's new government as an opportunity.

The two leaders acknowledged the close cooperation between their countries in the energy and plant sectors to date and agreed to continue expanding collaboration in a wide range of fields. President Lee also requested President Berdimuhamedov's special attention and support for Korean companies operating in Turkmenistan.

Additionally, the two leaders agreed to maintain close communication in preparation for the Korea-Central Asia Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Korea next year.
