As of the 39th day of applications for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon on August 28, the application rate reached 98.2%, indicating that the vast majority of citizens have received the consumption coupon.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on August 29, a total of 49,694,846 people (98.2% of the population) had applied for the consumption coupon as of midnight the previous day. The total amount distributed was 9.008 trillion won.
Among the payment methods, choosing credit or debit cards was the most popular, with approximately 34.43 million people (69.3%) selecting this option. This was followed by about 9.2 million cases of local gift certificates and 6.06 million cases of prepaid cards.
As of midnight on August 24, 78.7% of the consumption coupons distributed via credit or debit cards had been used. The amount spent totaled 4.6968 trillion won.
The region with the highest application rate for the consumption coupon was Jeonnam (98.72%), while Seoul had the lowest rate (97.56%).
