This fitness center was established to support disabled athletes who have struggled with training due to the lack of a dedicated practice facility. Seongnam City provided 66.1 million won to the Seongnam City Sports Association for the Disabled to make this possible.
The center covers a total area of 114 square meters (34 pyeong) and is equipped with eight types of exercise equipment specifically designed for the disabled, including pin machines, arm bikes, and wheelchair treadmills, as well as a total of 23 types of facilities, including treadmills and cycles.
Here, athletes can receive specialized training tailored to the characteristics of their disabilities.
Shin Sangjin, Mayor of Seongnam City, stated, "We will actively support our athletes so that they can hone their skills in a more comfortable environment and showcase their best performance."
The Seongnam City Sports Association for the Disabled consists of 1,687 members from 18 affiliated organizations covering sports such as swimming, bowling, soccer, golf, and lawn bowls.
