Strong Criticism of People Power Party's Attacks on the South Korea-U.S. Summit
"No Remorse, Therefore No Room for Leniency"
Jeong Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the People Power Party for attacking the recent South Korea-U.S. summit, saying, "Despite the generous public evaluation, it seems that in their eyes, they have once again become the Yoon Sukyeol Party and the Rebellion Party."

At the Democratic Party's general assembly held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 27th, Jeong stated, "Far from providing a proper assessment of the outcomes of the South Korea-U.S. summit, they are hurling insults. This makes me doubt whether the People Power Party is truly a force that cares about the national interest of the Republic of Korea."
Jeong further commented, "It seems as though they (the People Power Party) have an obsession that since they have ruined the country, the Democratic Party must ruin it as well. I simply cannot understand how they can so thoroughly undervalue the South Korea-U.S. summit."
He added, "In my view, they show no remorse (the feeling of regret a criminal has for their wrongdoing). Without remorse, there is no room for leniency."
He continued, "For the ruling party to be healthy, the opposition must also be healthy so that both can engage in fair competition. However, in Korea, there is no true opposition party; only far-right forces are dominant. From the perspective of the overall national interest, this is a very negative aspect of the party," he strongly criticized.
