Under this agreement, the two institutions plan to develop and operate integrated educational donation programs linked to science for students in the Gyeongsang region and to cooperate in spreading the culture of educational donation.

In particular, it is expected that programs combining science education and educational donation will provide local students with opportunities to enhance their learning capabilities and lay the foundation for social growth.

The UNIST Leadership Center operates career experience programs for about 2,500 local middle and high school students each year. Since 2023, it has expanded AI and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) integrated education, providing creative learning opportunities to more than 300 students.

In particular, the center runs a differentiated STEM program using the Near Peer mentoring method developed directly by UNIST students, helping local youth grow into integrated talents equipped with scientific and technological capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Lee Sanggil, head of the Gyeongsang Area Education Donation Hub Support Center, said, "This agreement will combine the expertise of both institutions to provide broader opportunities for learning and growth to students in the Gyeongsang region, and will serve as a meaningful opportunity to spread the culture of educational donation in partnership with the local community."

The Gyeongsang Area Education Donation Hub Support Center at National Pukyong University was established in 2023, designated by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, and operates a variety of customized educational donation programs for kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students in the Gyeongsang region.
