Man in His 20s Arrested in Changwon for Choking and Assaulting Acquaintance During Drunken Fight, Leaving Victim in Critical Condition

A man was arrested by the police after choking and assaulting an acquaintance during a drunken argument, leaving the victim unconscious.

According to Masan Jungbu Police Station and others, a man in his 20s, identified as A, is suspected of choking and assaulting his acquaintance, also in his 20s and identified as B, during a drunken altercation at an officetel in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, at around 12:05 a.m. on August 26, 2025.

A reportedly left the officetel room, leaving B unconscious from the assault. It is understood that B's girlfriend, identified as C, found B collapsed and reported the incident to the authorities.

B was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and is currently receiving treatment, but his condition is reported to be critical.

The police arrested A at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident, questioning both A and C.
