On August 26, Yonsei University Health System announced that it had recently signed an academic and educational cooperation agreement with Echosens, a global leader in non-invasive liver disease diagnostics, to promote liver health in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The purpose of this agreement is to offer medical professionals from Korea and neighboring Asian countries opportunities for education and training in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases.

Through this partnership, the two organizations plan to establish a hub for education and training related to liver disease and to become a regional center in the field of liver health. Professor Kim Seungup of the Department of Gastroenterology at Severance Hospital will conduct academic lectures, workshops, and clinical training sessions based on his clinical and research experience in liver health. In addition, the latest knowledge and experience in liver disease management will be shared with specialists from various departments such as endocrinology and cardiology, with the aim of raising the standard of liver disease management across Asia. Echosens will support the initiative by promoting the program, providing educational materials, and sharing the latest clinical protocols and case libraries.

Professor Kim Seungup stated, "Through this collaboration, we expect to strengthen the capabilities of medical professionals in the Asia-Pacific region and provide an opportunity to elevate the quality of care for patients with chronic liver diseases."
