The appointment ceremony for administrative officers, often referred to as the "flower of the administrative organization" and playing a pivotal role, was held on August 25.
According to Sejong City, a total of 11 new administrative officers were appointed this time. They completed a six-week leadership training course for promotion to Grade 5, held at the Local Government Human Resources Development Institute from July 14 to August 22.
The appointment ceremony was attended by about 50 people, including the newly promoted administrative officers, their families, and senior officials. The event proceeded in the following order: awarding of appointment certificates and badges, presentation of bouquets, commemorative photo session, and a time for conversation.
The families of the appointed administrative officers personally pinned the badges on them, expressing their support for their future public service careers. During the group conversation, the newly appointed officers shared their determination and aspirations, while also expressing gratitude to their families.
At the event, Mayor Choi Minho congratulated the officers on their promotion to Grade 5, recognizing their long-standing experience and achievements. He encouraged them to lead the city’s development for the benefit of Sejong and its citizens, urging them to pursue their dreams with creativity and enthusiasm.
Mayor Choi stated, "Grade 5 administrative officer is the first rank to include 'gwan' (official) in the title, signifying that you are entrusted with an important position in the nation." He continued, "I hope your families will give you plenty of praise and encouragement, as you are truly outstanding and proud talents." He also emphasized, "It is thanks to the love and strong support of your families that we are able to celebrate this honorable and meaningful occasion today. Going forward, I ask all of you to work with a strong sense of responsibility and mission."
