Cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Central Social Service Institute
Gathering On-Site Feedback to Build High-Quality Social Services
The Busan Social Service Institute (Director Yoo Kyuwon) will hold a social service regulatory improvement roundtable on the 26th at the Busan Social Welfare Center, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Central Social Service Institute.
This roundtable will serve as a platform for communication, with participants including officials from the Social Service Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Central Social Service Institute, the Busan Association of Social Workers, the Busan Association of Social Welfare Centers, and the Busan Council on Social Welfare. These related organizations and groups will present their opinions on regulatory improvements to promote the activation of social services.
The Busan Social Service Institute, in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City, is the only local government nationwide to have established the 1st Busan Metropolitan City Social Service Regional Plan (2024-2028). The institute is currently pursuing detailed projects, including “Institutional Improvements for Supporting and Promoting Social Services.”
Through this roundtable, the institute will continuously receive and review requests for regulatory improvements from social service providers, and will propose them to the relevant ministries to ensure that practical regulatory improvements are made. So far, the institute has also collected feedback on policy improvements in Busan and on-site opinions related to the local community service investment project, and is working to implement necessary changes.
Director Yoo Kyuwon stated, “The voices from the field are the starting point for the advancement of social services in Busan,” and added, “We will do our utmost to ensure that the feedback gathered through this roundtable leads to tangible institutional improvements, creating a better social service environment that citizens can truly experience.”
