Osan City Establishes 54 Detailed Projects Across Six Sectors for Mid-to-Long-Term Development

Securing Regional Competitiveness for the Era of 500,000 Residents and a 1 Trillion Won Budget

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province has established 54 detailed business plans across six sectors for the city's mid-to-long-term development.


On the 22nd, Osan City announced that it held the final report meeting for the "2040 Osan City Mid-to-Long-Term Comprehensive Development Plan" in the city hall situation room, attended by Mayor Lee Kwonjae and about 60 senior officials. During the meeting, the city shared strategic tasks and research results for each sector.

This meeting was held to summarize the results of the research project conducted from November last year to this month, and to finally share and discuss the strategic tasks for each sector.


The plan presents a future growth vision and action plan to enhance the quality of life for citizens and build specialized regional competitiveness, in preparation for an era of a population of 500,000 and a budget of 1 trillion won.


The research established a total of 54 detailed projects in six major sectors: housing, urban affairs, roads, and transportation; industry, economy, R&D, and agriculture; culture, tourism, and sports; environment, safety, parks, and green spaces; health, welfare, and education; and administration and local autonomy. The city explained that, considering the importance and urgency of the projects, 24 of them were selected as core tasks.


Based on the report meeting, the city plans to incorporate feedback from each department, complete the research project next month, and conduct interdepartmental collaboration and monitoring to ensure the smooth implementation of the tasks.


Mayor Lee stated, "Based on the mid-to-long-term development plan, we will concretize Osan's future vision and lead sustainable and balanced growth." He added, "By leveraging Osan City's strengths and potential, we will develop it into a small but strong and competitive city."
