Gyeongju City Council Holds 337th Gyeongbuk City and County Council Chairpersons' Association Meeting... Calls for Cooperation for Successful APEC Summit

The Gyeongju City Council announced that on the 21st, it held the 337th monthly meeting of the Gyeongbuk City and County Council Chairpersons' Association (chaired by Lee Donghyeop) at the Gyeongju Hilton Hotel.


This monthly meeting, attended by city and county council chairpersons from Gyeongbuk, began with a promotional video for the 2025 APEC Summit, followed by an opening and welcome address by Chairman Lee Donghyeop, a congratulatory speech by Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nakyoung, the presentation of plaques of appreciation and commemorative gifts, a donation to social welfare facilities, the main meeting, and a commemorative photo session.

During the main meeting, a report was given on the activities of the Gyeongbuk City and County Council Chairpersons' Association, along with guidance on various local festivals. There was also time to discuss major local issues and legislative activities in each city and county.


In addition, regarding the 2025 APEC Summit scheduled for the end of October, Kim Sangcheol, head of the Gyeongsangbuk-do APEC Preparation Support Team, provided an update on the preparations. Participants exchanged opinions by city and county to explore ways to ensure the summit's success.


Chairman Lee Donghyeop stated, "For the 2025 APEC Summit, which is now less than two months away, solidarity and cooperation among local councils are extremely important," and added, "I ask everyone to pool their wisdom for the development of Gyeongbuk and the happiness of its residents."


The Gyeongbuk City and County Council Chairpersons' Association is a consultative body established to promote the development of local councils within Gyeongbuk and to contribute to the advancement of local autonomy. The association holds meetings each month, rotating among the various cities and counties.
