Signs MOU with Bumihoe for AI Adoption and Innovation
Supporting Digital Transformation of Local Manufacturing SMEs
On August 20, the Dong-Eui University RISE Project Group Busan AI Innovation Center (Director: Jung Seokchan) signed a business agreement with Bumihoe, part of the Busan Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Convergence, for the introduction and innovation of AI at the Industry-Academic Cooperation Hall seminar room.

The signing ceremony was attended by Jung Seokchan, Director of the Busan AI Innovation Center at Dong-Eui University; Kim Sunghee, Head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group; So Sunmin, President of Bumihoe (CEO of Shinmijeonggong); Ji Myunghwan, Senior Vice President (CEO of Yumyeong Wood Industry); and other related officials.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in the following areas: development of AI and digital transformation technologies for manufacturing innovation; manufacturing-specialized AI research and on-site demonstrations in areas such as smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and quality control; joint industry-academic R&D and collaborative planning and execution of government and local government projects; joint operation of education and training programs to cultivate industry-specific professionals; establishment of a sustainable industry-academic cooperation network through regular workshops and seminars; and mutual support for various projects and events promoted by each organization.
Jung Seokchan, Director of the Busan AI Innovation Center at Dong-Eui University, stated, "Through this agreement, we aim to support the digital transformation and AI innovation of manufacturing SMEs in the Busan region that are facing difficulties in adopting artificial intelligence."
Bumihoe, which was launched with the meaning "Future of Busan," is an alliance of SMEs consisting of representatives from about 30 member companies belonging to the Busan Association of Small and Medium Enterprises Convergence. Through monthly meetings, the group seeks ways to advance the region and companies, and engages in management strategy discussions and technology exchanges.
