This package includes cleaning and sanitation supplies such as mold remover, dehumidifiers, and insecticides to help maintain hygiene and safety in daily life. The initiative focused on supporting households in welfare blind spots within the region so that they can live in a more comfortable and safe environment.
In particular, together with the "Happiness Task Force," which serves as a human safety net for preventing solitary deaths, the county made direct visits to the selected households. During these visits, they checked in on elderly individuals living alone and families at risk of isolation, providing both psychological support and welfare checks, thereby further strengthening the community care system to prevent solitary deaths.
Mr. Jeong (male, age 64) shared his thoughts, saying, "Living alone comes with many inconveniences, but having someone visit in person and provide the necessary items gives me great strength."
Governor Oh Dochang stated, "I hope that these home visits with the Happiness Task Force will offer comfort and a reliable safety net for seniors and vulnerable residents," adding, "We will continue to provide comprehensive welfare services close to our residents to build a warm Yeongyang County free of solitary deaths."
Yeongyang County also plans to continue supporting with supplies, as well as conducting regular home environment assessments and welfare checks, in order to identify those at risk of isolation or seclusion in advance and to continuously support the restoration of their social networks.
