With this selection, Dongseo University will receive up to 460 million KRW in support over the next two years and, depending on future evaluations, may receive up to 1.1 billion KRW in project funding over a maximum of five years.

The School Enterprise Support Project is a competitive program organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, targeting school enterprises established at universities and colleges nationwide. Its goal is to foster creative talent with practical skills by linking education and industry.

Animotion at Dongseo University has achieved the distinction of being selected for 16 consecutive years, from the first phase in 2009 through the third phase in 2024. This continuous selection for the fourth phase is the only case of its kind in the country and is drawing attention.

Through this project, Animotion plans to grow into a specialized regional cultural content production company that plans and produces various types of digital content-such as games, webtoons, videos, and animations-and connects them to industry and society.

In particular, Animotion aims to establish a content ecosystem based on OSMU (One Source Multi Use), which links planning, production, and commercialization in a rapidly changing content environment. The company will actively support students and local creators in realizing their ideas and help them transition to entrepreneurship and employment.

Additionally, Animotion is expected to become a cultural content hub that grows together with the local community, playing a key role in establishing Busan as a center of the K-content industry.

Moving forward, Animotion will continue to foster creative content talent and pursue joint projects through industry-academia cooperation with institutions such as Dongseo University’s Stella College of Arts, which is scheduled to open in 2027, thereby further strengthening its status as a regional content hub.

Professor Joo Wooseok (CEO of Animotion) stated, "With this 4th phase project, Animotion will contribute to establishing Busan as a center of the K-content industry through close cooperation with local industries, based on the excellent educational programs of the participating departments. We will take the lead in building a sustainable creative ecosystem where local youth can settle and continue their creative activities."
