These ambassadors will participate in a variety of promotional activities for the district, including the production of promotional materials and the promotion of local events and festivals. Dobong-gu recruited the Senior Ambassadors last month to expand opportunities for seniors to contribute to society and to encourage greater community participation.
A total of 34 people applied, and 20 were ultimately selected based on their promotional experience and willingness to participate. The group consists of 16 people in their 60s, three in their 70s, and one in their 80s. Their term will run for two years, from August 2025 to August 2027. Although the ambassador position is honorary and unpaid, activity expenses will be provided within the budget when necessary.
At the appointment ceremony held at the Witang Hall of the district office on August 19, Oh Eunseok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I am grateful that you have taken on the important role of ambassador," and added, "I hope you will help inform many people about Dobong's continued growth and transformation."
