Securing 260 Million KRW in Financial Performance Rewards

Gwangsan District in Gwangju has been selected as the top-performing district for the second consecutive year in the "2025 Resource Circulation Society Cultural Policy Promotion and Sanitation Administration District Evaluation" organized by Gwangju City, securing a financial performance reward of 260 million KRW. This evaluation was conducted across five districts, covering 15 items in four categories, including waste management and the promotion of a resource circulation culture.

Gwangsan District received high marks in the waste management category for its inspections of household waste collection and transportation practices and for strengthening work safety. The district was also recognized for its efforts to encourage citizen participation and raise awareness through resource circulation education, campaigns, and enhanced support for recycling collectors.

Gwangsan District plans to further strengthen its resource circulation policies to address the climate crisis and waste issues going forward.

District Mayor Park Byungkyu stated, "We will continue to actively respond to the climate change crisis by reducing carbon emissions and building a resource-circulating city."
