Proposal of Pesticide Residue Management Standards Helps Prevent Non-compliance Judgments for Farms and Alleviates Consumer Concerns
"I Will Continue Research Contributing to Food Safety and Solutions for Agricultural Issues"
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 16th that Professor Shin Yongho of the Department of Applied Biological Engineering has received the '35th Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award 2025' from the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST).

Professor Shin received this award for his research titled "Residue Characteristics of Chlorantraniliprole WG in Angelica Leaves and Establishment of Pre-harvest Residue Limits."
The paper presents precise analysis results of the residual levels of the insecticide chlorantraniliprole in Angelica leaves, which are used as herbal medicine and food, based on actual cultivation sites. Professor Shin's research team confirmed that the pesticide amount decreases by half every 5 to 7 days and proposed a management standard of '10 days before harvest.'
This achievement has been recognized for its contribution to preventing non-compliance judgments for farms and alleviating consumer concerns.
Professor Shin stated, "I am honored to receive this award thanks to the support of my laboratory students, fellow researchers, and the university," and added, "I will continue to conduct practical research to ensure food safety for the public and solve problems in the agricultural field."
Since joining Dong-A University in 2021, Professor Shin has been serving as an editorial board member of the Korean Society of Environmental Agriculture, an academic committee member of the Korean Society of Pesticide Science, and an expert review committee member for the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Since 1991, KOFST has selected scientists and engineers who have published creative research achievements and has annually presented the Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award. This year, Professor Sung Yong of the Department of Architecture at Dong-A University was also named as an award recipient.
