"Science Delivered"... National Busan Science Museum Hosts Mobile Science Experience Exhibition 'Visiting Small Science Museum'

Mobile Science Exhibition and Performances Conclude Successfully at Danghangpo Tourist Site, Goseong
This Weekend: Event Continues at Tongyeong RCE Sejatra Forest (August 22-24)

The National Busan Science Museum received an enthusiastic response for hosting the mobile science experience exhibition, "Visiting Small Science Museum," at the Dinosaur Playground Village in Danghangpo Tourist Site, Goseong, from August 15 to 17.

"Visiting Small Science Museum" is a flagship science outreach program of the National Busan Science Museum Supporters' Association (Chairman: Lee Sutae, CEO of Panasia). The initiative delivers the museum's self-developed mobile exhibits and a variety of science culture content to local communities.

This year, the program is being held in two locations: Goseong and Tongyeong. In Goseong, it ran from August 15 to 17 in collaboration with the Goseong Culture and Tourism Foundation. From August 22 to 24, it will continue at the Tongyeong RCE Sejatra Forest in partnership with the Tongyeong Sustainable Development Education Foundation.

The exhibition features three main components: mobile exhibits, science culture experiences, and science performances.

The mobile exhibits include 11 types developed by the museum, such as "Unplugged Coding," "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Coding," "Dream of Hydrogen," and "Paper Airplane Launcher." Expert explanations were provided to help visitors easily understand the scientific principles behind each exhibit.

The science culture experience programs were designed for families and included activities such as "String Art Making," where participants create their own artwork using string; "Robot Mask Making," which involves crafting three-dimensional masks; "Shrinkles Making," using heat-shrinkable paper; and the "Marble Run Challenge," where various track shapes can be constructed using educational kits.

The science performance segment featured the museum's original show, "Sunday Science Theater Season 2 - Dr. Eongttung's Secret Laboratory." In Goseong, the performance was held successfully on August 15. In Tongyeong, it is scheduled for two shows on August 23, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Participants can register either through the Tongyeong RCE Sejatra Forest website or by visiting in person.

Kwon Sujin, Head of Science Culture at the National Busan Science Museum, stated, "We enhanced engagement by combining explanations, hands-on experiences, and performances, rather than simply displaying exhibits. Many staff members participated directly to practice science outreach, and we aim to continue creating opportunities for more people to enjoy science outside the museum in the future."
