Jungnang-gu's 'Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet' Surpasses 10,000 Participants, Expanding the Culture of Sharing Community

Established as a Resident-Driven Welfare Model

Jungnang-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Ryu Kyunggi) announced on August 18 that its welfare brand, 'Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet,' which began full-scale operations in January this year, has recorded 10,165 participants in just eight months since its launch, establishing itself as a new model for a culture of sharing in the local community.

Jungnang-gu's 'Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet' Surpasses 10,000 Participants, Expanding the Culture of Sharing Community Jungnang-gu's 'Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet' won the Grand Prize at the '2025 Manifesto Best Practice Competition.' Provided by Jungnang-gu.

Jungnang Donghaeng Sarangnet is an integrated welfare linkage system with the vision of "A welfare community where 400,000 residents help 400,000 residents." Through both an online platform and an offline network, it connects residents who wish to help with those in need of assistance.

Currently, the program is expanding participation and sharing through five main areas: donations, relationship building, talent sharing, health, and education. This is achieved via an online linkage platform, the neighborhood-level offline network "Wooridongne Sarangnet," and the "Jungnang Donghaeng Academy" for strengthening residents' capabilities.

As of August this year, the online platform has 10,165 participants and 331 registered projects, with cumulative website visits exceeding 30,000. The offline "Wooridongne Sarangnet" involves 241 organizations and 5,143 participants, serving as a welfare hub by facilitating direct communication with residents.

In recognition of these achievements, Jungnang-gu received the Grand Prize in the social capital category at the "2025 National Manifesto Best Practice Competition for Local Government Heads," held last month in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. This accomplishment, which highlights a resident-led welfare model, has garnered nationwide attention.

There are also a variety of real-life examples. An elderly resident who previously had difficulty visiting the hospital was able to receive treatment conveniently through the "Hospital Companion Service." A young office worker, remembering the help he once received, began making regular donations. In this way, a virtuous cycle of sharing is spreading throughout the community.

Ryu Kyunggi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, "A culture of residents participating and helping their neighbors is rapidly taking root," and added, "We will continue to strengthen both online and offline platforms so that more residents can easily take part in sharing."
