Sejong City Accepts Applications for Free Bicycle and PM Safety Education in the Second Half of the Year

Sejong City Accepts Applications for Free Bicycle and PM Safety Education in the Second Half of the Year

Starting on August 25, applications will be accepted for free bicycle safety education for the second half of the year, targeting Sejong residents aged 15 and older. This initiative aims to promote a culture of safe use of bicycles and personal mobility devices (PMs). The city has been offering free safety education every year, divided into first and second half sessions.

According to Sejong City on August 17, the second half program will run from September 13 to November 7. A total of 100 participants will be recruited, with 25 people in each of four sessions: three beginner courses and one intermediate course. The program consists of customized education by skill level, covering theoretical instruction on traffic laws, safety regulations, and safe operation methods for bicycles and PMs, as well as practical training such as how to ride a bicycle and on-road cycling exercises.

Notably, the weekend classes newly introduced in the first half of this year received a great response from citizens. As a result, the city plans to continue offering weekend sessions in the second half to allow more residents to participate. Each session will be held 10 times, with each class lasting two hours. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion, a safety helmet, and a seven-day free pass for the public bicycle service, Ouling.

Applications can be submitted through the city hall website, and for more details, residents can contact the Bicycle Culture Team of the City Public Transportation Division.
