On the morning of August 15, marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo visited the Daejeon National Cemetery in Yuseong District to pay tribute to the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who dedicated their lives to the nation.


Approximately 80 people attended the memorial ceremony, including Yang Junyoung, head of the Daejeon branch of the Liberation Association, Seo Seungil, head of the Daejeon Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, leaders of veterans' organizations, and bereaved families of independence patriots.

In front of the Memorial Tower, Mayor Lee offered flowers and incense, honoring the noble spirit of the patriotic forebears who devoted themselves to the country. In the guestbook, he wrote, "We will never forget the sacrifice and spirit of our forebears, and we will vigorously open the future of Daejeon."
