DB Securities Posts 56.8 Billion KRW Operating Profit in H1, Up 14% Year-on-Year

DB Securities (CEO Kwak Bongseok) announced on August 14 that it recorded a consolidated operating profit of 56.8 billion KRW and a net profit of 47.4 billion KRW for the first half of this year, according to its regulatory filing. These figures represent increases of 13.9% and 22.2%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

The company explained that the improvement in performance was driven by the alleviation of PF provision burdens, the recovery of subsidiary earnings, and solid results across all business divisions. In addition, as of the first half of the year, consolidated client assets surpassed an all-time high of 100 trillion KRW, establishing a strong foundation for continued growth and a stable profit structure.

In particular, the IB division maintained a stable profit flow by focusing on risk management and profitability, even amid a sluggish real estate market, and by arranging large acquisition finance deals. The S&T division consistently delivered strong results in bond management and drove performance through flexible market responses, even during periods of increased volatility.

A DB Securities representative stated, "We are maintaining robust profitability in our core business divisions, centered on PIB-linked operations, and further enhancing the quality of our results by making PI division performance more visible. As the additional PF provision burden is not significant, we expect stable performance to continue in the second half of the year."

Meanwhile, at the beginning of this year, DB Securities completed the repurchase of 500,000 shares of treasury stock and finalized its employee stock ownership support program, continuing its shareholder return policy. Following a shareholder return ratio of 43% last year, the company plans to further enhance shareholder value and expand returns this year as well, based on stable performance.
