This Atopy Family Camp was organized as part of the "Lee Kun-hee Childhood Cancer and Rare Disease Overcoming Project." Supported by a national research project on infrastructure for ultra-rare diseases, the camp aimed to share accurate information and scientific management methods for severe atopic dermatitis.
On this day, families battling atopic dermatitis attended the event, participated in programs such as measuring skin moisture levels, and observed dust mites-one of the main causes of atopic dermatitis-under a microscope.
Kim Ji-hyun, a professor of pediatrics at Samsung Medical Center, said, "Severe atopic dermatitis is a chronic disease that affects the lives of the entire family, so accurate information and warm support are essential." She added, "I hope this event provided an opportunity for families to share their concerns and encourage one another."
