The Special Committee on Personnel Hearings for the Director of the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute (Chair: Hyunmi Kim, hereinafter referred to as the Special Committee) was held for the first time since its establishment, and it is expected that Kwon Younggeol, the candidate, will be appointed soon, as the committee members expressed a consensus that he is suitable for the position.


According to the Sejong City Council Special Committee on Personnel Hearings, a personnel hearing for the candidate for the director of the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute was conducted on August 12, and the committee announced on August 13 that this consensus had been reached.


The hearing was organized to verify the qualifications of the inaugural director candidate, including job performance capabilities and expertise, following the establishment of the Sejong Lifelong Education and Policy Research Institute. The committee members focused on evaluating policy vision, expertise, integrity, and organizational management skills. In-depth questions and answers were conducted on the clear vision and integrative leadership required of the inaugural director, who will lead the newly established institute that integrates research and educational functions.

Kwon stated, "Based on the expertise I have accumulated through experience in government, industry, and academia, I will do my utmost to integrate the research and educational functions in line with the institute's founding purpose." Chair Hyunmi Kim of the Special Committee said, "After thoroughly verifying the candidate's qualities and abilities from multiple perspectives, we confirmed his strong willingness to take the lead in research and policy responses to address major issues." She added, "We expect that, through close communication with the city council, he will strengthen public services through regional policy research and development going forward."
