Jeonnam Alert Level Lowered from "Warning" to "Caution"
As of 7:30 p.m. on August 13, the Korea Forest Service raised the landslide crisis alert for Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon regions from "Caution" to the highest level, "Serious." In Jeonnam, the alert level was lowered from "Caution" to "Watch."
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that from the night of August 13 through the morning of August 14, heavy rain is expected to fall mainly in the metropolitan area and Yeongseo, Gangwon Province, with intense downpours of 30 to 70 millimeters per hour and a total of more than 150 to 200 millimeters in some areas.

Lee Mira, Deputy Commissioner of the Korea Forest Service, stated, "The landslide crisis alert has been raised to 'Serious.' We urge everyone to pay close attention to evacuation guidance provided via emergency disaster text messages (CBS) and village broadcasts."
Deputy Commissioner Lee also emphasized, "Since heavy rain has been forecasted to fall in a short period of time, please avoid approaching forested areas. If you live near forests, promptly evacuate to designated shelters such as village halls if an evacuation order is issued."
