The Special Investigation Team of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency announced on the morning of August 13 that it was conducting searches and seizures at four safety inspection companies responsible for the road where the accident occurred.
The targets of the search and seizure are companies that were in charge of safety inspections after the road opened in September 2023.
The police plan to secure safety inspection documents and electronic data to determine whether the inspections were properly conducted.
Previously, at around 7:04 p.m. on July 16, a 10-meter-high retaining wall of the Gajang Overpass in Gajang-dong, Osan, collapsed in the direction of Suwon, covering a passenger car passing under the overpass and resulting in the death of a male driver in his 40s.
