Pulse, a company specializing in corporate strategy design, has recruited new experts with specialties in distribution and new business strategies, as well as real estate and urban development, to strengthen its strategic competitiveness.


On August 13, Pulse announced the appointment of Sungyoung Kim, former CEO of Emart Everyday, and Sungil Kim, professor of real estate at Myongji University, as senior advisors. Their term will last for three years, until August 12, 2028. Both advisors will provide insights during strategy development and will be responsible for advising on and reviewing the overall progress of projects.


Sungyoung Kim (born in 1965), a senior advisor, graduated from Korea University with a degree in Japanese Language and Literature and completed a master's program in Japanese at Waseda University in Japan. He is known as a "Shinsegae man," having spent 37 years at Shinsegae Group, where he led major projects such as the establishment of Emart24 and Everyday, the acquisition of Shinsegae Duty Free, and the launch of Shinsegae TV Shopping. From 2016, he served as CEO of Emart24 (formerly Emart With Me) and Emart Everyday for seven years. After stepping down from executive roles at the end of 2023, he has been working as an advisor for the Management Strategy Office at Shinsegae Group. He is recognized for his extensive experience in new business strategies and market development.


Sungil Kim (born in 1965), a senior advisor, earned a master's degree in National Land Planning and Economics from Korea University and a doctorate in real estate from Myongji University. He is credited as the key figure behind transforming the underdeveloped Yeonnam-dong area in Seoul into one of the city's "eight major commercial districts," and is regarded as someone who combines theoretical knowledge, field experience, and keen insight. He served as a member of the 6th and 7th Seodaemun District Council in Seoul and was the chairman of the council in 2018. As a first-generation real estate expert, he has extensive experience in formulating and implementing policies related to reconstruction and redevelopment. He is currently a professor of real estate at Myongji University and serves as CEO of My Best Real Estate Asset Management and My Besters.
