Ahn Jaewook, Original Korean Wave Star, Attends Vietnam State Banquet Hosted by President Lee

Actor Ahn Jaewook attended the Korea-Vietnam state banquet held at the Blue House State Guesthouse on the 11th.

On this day, President Lee Jaemyung hosted a state banquet, inviting Rum, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who was visiting Korea. The banquet was attended by business leaders including Chey Taewon, Chairman of SK Group; Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group; Koo Kwangmo, Chairman of LG Group; and Shin Dongbin, Chairman of Lotte Group. From the political sector, Kim Yongbeom, Chief Policy Secretary to the President, and Kim Taenyeon, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, were present.


From the cultural and sports sectors, 66 figures attended, including Park Hangseo, former head coach of the Vietnamese national football team who received the Labor Order and the Order of Merit from Vietnam; Hwang Inkyung, author of the novel "Ah! Ho Chi Minh"; and Tran Baomin (DRX), a Vietnamese player in League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).


From the Vietnamese side, General Secretary Rum and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, the Minister of Public Security, and the Minister of National Defense were in attendance.


Ahn Jaewook, dressed in a navy suit, was seated at a table near Chairman Chung Euisun. He became an original Korean Wave star in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries through the 1997 MBC drama "Star in My Heart," and gained popularity with works such as "Goodbye My Love" and "Sunflower," which were broadcast locally.


Born in 1971, Ahn Jaewook debuted in 1994 as part of the 23rd class of MBC's open recruitment for actors. He has appeared in numerous works, including "Revenge Battle," "Bad Friends," "Oh! Pilseung Bong Sunyoung," and "Lights and Shadows." Recently, he played the role of the LX Hotel chairman in the KBS2 weekend drama "Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers!"
