The Jeonnam International Agricultural Expo Foundation held a mid-term report meeting for major agency services on August 11 to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 International Agricultural Expo, which will take place at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services in October. During the meeting, the foundation reviewed its preparedness, prioritizing the safety of visitors above all else.
At the meeting, it was noted that the expo is expected to attract 400,000 domestic and international visitors under the theme "Agricultural Revolution with AI, Nurturing Life through K-Agriculture." Given this, the organizers identified safety as the core value and examined a comprehensive on-site management plan to prepare for every possible scenario.
The organizing committee decided to equip all on-site safety personnel with smart wearable cameras, enabling real-time sharing of on-site situations with the integrated control center. This will establish a multi-layered command system capable of proactive prevention and immediate response.
To disperse the expected daily maximum of 120,000 visitors and a simultaneous on-site capacity of up to 60,000 people, the organizers will implement flexible gate operations based on big data and manage the total capacity for each exhibition hall, fundamentally preventing congestion.
To achieve this, a 24-hour integrated control center staffed by 12 personnel from the expo secretariat and the operations agency will be established, and safety staff will be strategically deployed throughout the venue to eliminate any physical safety blind spots.
The organizers also plan to establish an organic joint response system with related agencies, including Naju City, the police, fire department, and public health center, to secure the golden time and respond immediately to any crisis situation.
Additionally, a multi-layered safety net will be put in place by conducting intensive three-stage on-site integrated rehearsals simulating real-life situations and subscribing to commercial general liability insurance with coverage of up to 300 million KRW to prepare for unforeseen circumstances.
Park Kwansu, Secretary-General of the Jeonnam International Agricultural Expo Foundation, stated, "We will establish a comprehensive safety management system based on advanced technology and organic cooperation, creating an environment where visitors can enjoy the expo with peace of mind."
