Operating Profit Reaches 1.4 Billion KRW
Six Consecutive Quarters in the Black
Com2uS posted an operating profit of 1.4 billion KRW in the second quarter of this year, marking its sixth consecutive quarter in the black.
On August 12, Com2uS announced in a regulatory filing that its consolidated sales and operating profit for the second quarter of this year were provisionally tallied at 184.8 billion KRW and 1.4 billion KRW, respectively. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 6.8%, and operating profit rose by 0.1%.
Looking at the cumulative results for the first half of this year, sales reached 352.8 billion KRW and operating profit stood at 3 billion KRW. First-half sales and operating profit increased by 6.7% and 20%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Overseas sales accounted for approximately 67% of total sales in the second quarter of this year.
Among major titles, "Summoners War: Sky Arena" has continued its success through its 11th anniversary promotion. The baseball game lineup, which has expanded its portfolio with new releases, showed strong growth, benefiting from the opening of professional baseball seasons both domestically and internationally.
Com2uS plans to continue the strong performance of its existing titles in the second half of the year while launching a variety of new titles. Summoners War aims to expand its global fanbase through a collaboration update with "TEKKEN 8," which began at the end of July. The baseball game lineup also aims to set new record sales through various updates and events tailored to postseason and other domestic and international league schedules.
The MMORPG "The Starlight," which began pre-registration in June, is set for official release in the third quarter.
In addition, Com2uS intends to further expand its lineup by continuously introducing new titles across various genres. The company is preparing works based on intellectual properties (IP) such as "Dowonamgwi: Crimson Inferno," which is scheduled for its first reveal at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 in September, as well as popular webtoons like "Omniscient Reader" and "Destiny Child."
Furthermore, under the leadership of CEO Kim Dae-hwan, Averton is strengthening its global competitiveness through a diverse lineup of internally developed and published new titles, including the highly anticipated MMORPG "Project ES" (working title), the casual collectible MMORPG "Project M" (working title), and the training simulation game "Project MAIDEN" (working title).
