“She Will Bring a Fitting Conclusion to the Festival’s Intense Excitement”
Actor Suhyun has been selected as the host for the closing ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
The Busan International Film Festival Secretariat announced on the 11th that Suhyun will serve as the sole host of the closing ceremony. An official stated, "She is an actor who has captivated audiences worldwide with her overwhelming presence, atmosphere, and profound acting," adding, "She will bring a fitting conclusion to the intense excitement that has continued throughout the ten-day festival."
Suhyun began her acting career in 2006 and became the first Korean actor to appear in a Marvel film, making her Hollywood debut with 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.' She went on to appear in major productions such as 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,' a spin-off of the 'Harry Potter' series, as well as 'The Dark Tower' and 'Equals.'
More recently, she has been active in the drama 'Not a Hero' and the Netflix series 'Gyeongseong Creature.' She also won the Best Supporting Actress award in the film category at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards for her role in the film 'Normal Family.'
This year's closing ceremony will feature the presentation of the newly established competition section, the 'Busan Awards.' The festival will be held for ten days from September 17 to 26 at the Busan Cinema Center and surrounding areas.
