“Gijang County Will Spare No Support”
Head Jung Jongbok Inspects Training Site
Gijang County has partnered with a local educational institution to support reemployment for middle-aged and older adults.
On August 11, the county announced that Jung Jongbok, head of Gijang County, visited the Dongbusan Campus of Korea Polytechnic University (Dean Lee Changyeol) to inspect the site of the "Elevator Technology and Safety Education for Middle-aged and Older Adults," which is being conducted as part of the "Gijang County Job Creation Support Project," and to discuss ways to cooperate.

This visit was arranged ahead of the training program scheduled to begin at Korea Polytechnic University in September, with Head Jung personally checking the training environment and seeking tailored support measures for the reemployment of middle-aged and older adults.
During a business meeting with Dean Lee, Head Jung held in-depth discussions on strategies for job creation for the middle-aged and older population. He then visited the elevator department's training site, carefully inspecting the latest elevator control panels and safety devices used as educational equipment. He also listened to explanations of the curriculum from the faculty and explored practical educational methods to foster skilled professionals.
Dean Lee Changyeol stated, "We are grateful for Gijang County's active cooperation," and added, "We will do our utmost to help trainees successfully find reemployment by leveraging our excellent educational infrastructure and expertise."
Head Jung Jongbok emphasized, "The on-site, customized training environment is well established and will be of great help for reemployment," and pledged, "We will provide administrative support to ensure trainees can secure stable employment."
Starting with this collaboration, Gijang County and the Dongbusan Campus of Korea Polytechnic University plan to continue their partnership by developing and operating various vocational training programs tailored to the needs of local industries.
