Mokpo City in South Jeolla Province will hold the "2025 Mokpo Harbor Festival Short-form Contest" to promote the charm of Mokpo Harbor through video content created by both citizens and tourists.
On August 11, the city announced that it would accept submissions of vertical short-form videos under 30 seconds in length on the theme of "Mokpo Harbor in My Heart" until 5:00 p.m. on August 20.
Videos can freely express the scenery, emotions, people, and daily life of Mokpo Harbor, with no restrictions on format or genre, including vlogs, sketch comedies, and parodies.
Anyone nationwide interested in the Mokpo Harbor Festival is eligible to participate, and both individuals and teams may submit only one entry each. Entries must be posted publicly on personal social media accounts (Instagram or YouTube) with the hashtags #MokpoCity, #MokpoHarborFestival, and #MokpoContest, and the video file, application form, and consent for personal information must be submitted via email.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, popularity, and usability. After the first and second rounds of judging, the results will be announced on the Mokpo City website on September 5. Awards will be given as follows: Grand Prize (1 winner, 1 million KRW), Excellence Prize (1 winner, 300,000 KRW), and Encouragement Prize (1 winner, 100,000 KRW).
A Mokpo City official stated, "This contest is an opportunity to capture the charm of Mokpo Harbor in a short yet meaningful way," and added, "We encourage everyone to show great interest and participate."
