The Korea Tourism Organization announced on August 11 that it hosted the gourmet festival 'Dracula Garlic Night' at Danyang Gukyeong Market in Danyang, Chungbuk, on August 9.
This event was designed to attract visitors' interest and revitalize Danyang Gukyeong Market by combining Danyang's specialty, garlic, with Count Dracula, who is known for his dislike of garlic. Danyang Gukyeong Market is one of the top 10 K-Tourism Markets selected by the Korea Tourism Organization.

Sixty pre-registered participants enjoyed a special garlic-themed dining course served personally by Count Dracula. Unique garlic dishes were offered, including a welcome drink of Danyang Gukyeongju cocktail, garlic bread, garlic sundae soup, garlic tteokgalbi (dakgangjeong), and black garlic ice cream for dessert. The menu items included in the course meal are available year-round at Danyang Gukyeong Market.
In addition, a variety of events captured visitors' attention, such as a cocktail bar featuring traditional liquor, DJing and jazz band performances, a Dracula photo zone, and garlic bead bracelet making. In particular, the Pepsi Combo, developed in collaboration with Pepsi Korea, proved to be highly popular, with all 300 prepared sets selling out within an hour. The Pepsi Combo is a set menu that pairs 'Pepsi Zero Sugar Mojito Flavor' with dishes featuring Danyang garlic, such as bulmangchi pork cutlet, cheese tteokgalbi, and dakgangjeong.
Kim Seok, Director of Regional Tourism at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "The organization is promoting initiatives such as the Top 10 K-Tourism Markets project to nurture the unique charm of traditional markets as tourism content," adding, "We will continue to work to revitalize traditional markets by utilizing local specialties and collaborating with private brands in the future."
