Partnership with Global Superfan Platform "Weverse"
Event: Additional 10 "Weverse Jellies" Offered
On August 10, KT announced the launch of its '5G Weverse Choice' plan, a new mobile service designed for fan customers through a partnership with the global superfan platform Weverse. This move aligns with the recent trend, especially among the MZ Generation (Millennials and Generation Z), where fandom activities are becoming a leading force in both consumption and daily life.
The 5G Weverse Choice plan offers unlimited 5G data and is tailored for customers who enjoy fandom activities. It was developed by incorporating ideas from KT's university student marketing supporters, 'Y Futurist.' A key feature of the plan is the monthly provision of up to 40 'Weverse Jellies' (worth about 12,000 won), which can be used to purchase digital goods on the Weverse platform.
This plan is available in three versions: Choice Premium (130,000 won per month), Choice Special (110,000 won per month), and Choice Basic (90,000 won per month). With a 25% discount for a contract commitment and an additional 25% premium family bundle discount, customers can subscribe to the 'Choice Special' plan for around 50,000 won per month.
All versions of the plan include unlimited data benefits, as well as additional perks such as KT Membership VVIP status, one free smart device line, one free data sharing line, and device insurance discounts.
To celebrate the launch, KT is running a promotion until October 31, offering an additional 10 Weverse Jellies. During this period, customers can receive up to 50 Jellies per month (worth about 15,000 won) without any separate application, which is up to 30 more Jellies (worth about 9,000 won) than usual.
KT also plans to actively expand its fandom marketing, including the 'Y Box Promotion,' which offers prizes such as photo card case sets and cameras that are essential for fandom activities.
Kwon Heegeun, Executive Vice President and Head of KT's Marketing Innovation Division, stated, "Weverse Choice is the first plan from a domestic telecom provider to offer customized benefits specifically for fandom customers," adding, "We will continue to expand our lineup of differentiated products that reflect the diverse lifestyles and content consumption trends of our customers."
