The University Innovation Support Project is a general financial support program in which 138 universities nationwide (including 60 in the Seoul metropolitan area) participate. It aims to promote autonomous innovation at universities and foster future talent. This evaluation comprehensively assessed both past innovation achievements and future plans for 2025 to 2027.

Seoul City University received high marks for achieving student-centered educational innovation through the establishment of a major selection system based on the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the Major Design and Convergence Support Center, the flexibilization of academic systems such as multiple majors and modular curricula, and the operation of the AMAZE system, which provides integrated support for career, academic, and employment guidance according to students' growth cycles.

In addition, the university was recognized for its overall excellence in educational innovation, including strengthening basic academic disciplines, expanding convergence education, and improving academic systems.

First, the university received approval from the Ministry of Education to increase the enrollment quota by a total of 55 students for the Department of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Advanced Convergence, and the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, starting in the 2026 academic year, in recognition of the excellence of its advanced field curricula.

Furthermore, Seoul City University was selected as one of three lead universities for projects under the Seoul Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) initiative, taking the lead in building a 'Seoul-style innovation' model by fostering advanced strategic industries, solving regional issues, and advancing lifelong learning.

Additionally, the university was newly selected for the 'Software-Centered University' project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and plans to nurture AI and software convergence talent by receiving a total of 15 billion won in support over the next eight years.

President Won Yonggeol stated, "We were able to achieve the S grade in this performance evaluation as a result of our continuous innovation efforts to strengthen competitiveness and ensure sustainable growth," and added, "We will continue to actively support the growth of both students and faculty based on the University Innovation Support Project."
