The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on August 7 that, together with the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES), it held a joint performance by the 'Dream Arts Troupe' at Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province.
The Dream Arts Troupe is a flagship arts and culture education brand that the Ministry has supported for the past 15 years. It began with the Dream Orchestra in 2010, followed by the Dream Dance Company in 2022, the Dream Theater Company in 2024, and the Dream Studio in 2025. From August 6 to 8, the 'Dream Festival' joint camp is taking place in Pyeongchang, with members from Dream Arts Troupe chapters nationwide participating. As part of this festival, a joint performance was organized.
This year's Dream Festival brought together approximately 1,000 participants, including members of four Dream Orchestras (Guri, Daegu, Muju, Cheongsong), twelve Dream Dance Companies (Gangneung, Gongju, Guri, Gimhae, Songpa, Yeonsu, Osan, Ulju, Jung-gu Incheon, Jeonju, Cheonan, Chilgok), the 2024 Dream Theater Company ambassador 'Theater Traveler', child members, as well as youth choirs from three overseas countries: Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand. Composer Choi Woojung, professor at Seoul National University College of Music, served as the general director of the Dream Festival. Vocalist Samuel Yoon, also a professor at Seoul National University College of Music, and choreographer Kim Bora, artistic director of Art Project Bora, participated as co-directors, supporting the artistic immersion and high-level creative activities of the troupe members.
During the joint performance on August 7, general director Choi Woojung premiered the theme song for the '2025 Dream Festival', titled 'My Tomorrow', which he composed for the Dream Arts Troupe. The stage featured a collaborative performance by the Dream Orchestra, the Dream Dance Company, and overseas choir members.
First Lady Kim Hyekyung delivered a congratulatory video message, stating, "Art has the power to move hearts and even change the world, as well as individual lives. As you are already wonderful artists, I hope you will continue to live inspiring lives alongside art. I wholeheartedly support your beautiful future as you grow through every moment, big and small, in art."
More details about the 'Dream Festival' can be found on the KACES website.
Lee Jungwoo, Director-General for Culture and Arts Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "Artistic activities are more than a simple hobby; they are a precious channel for expressing emotions and thoughts. That is why opportunities to encounter art in childhood are invaluable. We will continue to expand support so that anyone, whether in a small village or a big city, can learn art and develop their talents."
