Held at the Grand Theater of the Samsung Cultural Center, Jeonbuk National University
On August 12 at 7:30 p.m., a special performance by the Jeonju City Choir commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, titled 'Baekbeom Kim Gu,' will be held at the Grand Theater of the Samsung Cultural Center at Jeonbuk National University in Jeonju.

According to the city on August 6, this large-scale choral performance will feature a total of about 120 performers, including the Jeonju City Choir under the direction of Artistic Director Kim Cheol, as well as the Jeonju City Symphony Orchestra and the Iksan City Choir.
The performance will consist of 14 original compositions that musically depict the entire life of Baekbeom Kim Gu, from his childhood and independence movement to his hardships, philosophy, and final testament. The program is notable for its in-depth portrayal of Kim Gu’s personal struggles and his deep affection for his country.
Through this performance, the Jeonju City Choir aims to enhance Jeonju’s reputation as a city of music and the arts, while also expressing the city’s aspirations to host the Jeonju Summer Olympics and its vision for a Cultural Olympics.
No Eunyoung, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism at Jeonju City, stated, "This performance goes beyond a simple artistic stage and will be a valuable opportunity to share the meaning of Liberation Day and the philosophy of Baekbeom Kim Gu, which we should reflect on, with our citizens. We hope that many citizens will join us for this special performance."
Tickets are priced at 10,000 won for first-floor seats and 7,000 won for second-floor seats and can be reserved through the Naru Culture website or by phone. A 30% discount is available to holders of the Artist Pass Card, multi-child family cards, and students (including university students). A 50% discount is offered to national merit recipients and people with disabilities.
