Through this business agreement, recipients of national merit and their bereaved families or relatives will be eligible for the benefits. When a veteran family wishing to receive a discount at a participating small business presents a barcode via the application (app), they can purchase goods and other items at a discounted price. This initiative is expected to achieve two goals: promoting and increasing sales for small businesses registered as participating stores, and expanding services for veteran families.
The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise plans to recruit participating stores among its member companies and regional members nationwide, while also launching the "Everyone's Patriots Market" app on Google Play Store and Apple App Store in October to begin providing full-scale discount services. The Federation will encourage participation among its nationwide members, and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will actively inform veteran families about how to use the service.
Chiyoung Song, President of the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise, stated, "This service is a private-sector initiative in which small business owners voluntarily determine their own discount rates and participate, making it a win-win project for both participating small businesses and veteran families," adding, "We will continue to contribute to fostering a social atmosphere in which veteran families are respected."
Ohul Kwon, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, said, "I would like to thank the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise for taking an active role in fostering a culture of daily respect for those who have served the nation," and added, "The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will continue to make various efforts so that veterans and their families, including those who have rendered distinguished service to the nation, can feel pride and so that a culture of national respect and honor for veterans can be established and spread."
Both organizations plan to continue working together to strengthen respect for veteran families and to seek various measures for mutual growth with small businesses.
