Gwangju Seogu Focuses Administrative Efforts on Boosting Hometown Love Donation Program

Seven New Gift Items Selected, Including Gamae Tendon

Seogu District of Gwangju has rolled up its sleeves to promote the Hometown Love Donation Program and revitalize the local economy.

On August 6, Seogu announced that it recently expanded the number of participating suppliers to 31 and the number of gift items to 55 by selecting two new gift suppliers and seven new gift items through the "2025 2nd Gift Selection Committee."

The newly added gifts include "Gamae Tendon" by Master Chef Ahn Yoosung, who was featured as the "Presidential Master Tendon" on the popular Netflix show "Heukbaek Yori-sa," as well as Korean beef sirloin, domestic pork ribs and apples, and hair and scalp/skin care services from Parisienne Hair & Spa (Hwajeong-dong). These additions offer donors a wider range of choices.

To ensure transparency and credibility in the operation of the Hometown Love Donation Program, Seogu has also established a communication channel. Through a dedicated Instagram channel, Seogu plans to share real-time updates on new gifts, the progress of donation projects, and donation-related news. Additionally, the status of donation fund usage will be summarized in a card news format and provided once a month.

Previously, in July, Seogu held an event through the mobile app "Wello" to encourage more donations, which attracted participation from about 250 donors.

Donations can be made via the "Wello" mobile app or "Gohyang Sarang e-eum." Those who donate 100,000 won to Seogu are eligible for a full tax deduction and can also receive a variety of gifts.

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu, stated, "We will enhance the competitiveness of the Hometown Love Donation Program by offering unique gifts exclusive to Gwangju Seogu," and added, "We will continue to actively discover various donation projects to widely promote the value of Seogu as a Good City."
