According to the draft amendments to the rating classification regulations and committee regulations announced by the committee on August 5, the existing five rating criteria?such as 'sexual content' and 'violence and horror'?will be subdivided into seven categories, aligning with the current information display standards.

Additionally, a new provision has been introduced stating that "when applying detailed criteria, the overall context?including historical facts, background, virtual experiences, and the subject of expression?must be comprehensively considered," allowing for more flexible and contextually appropriate reviews.

These amendments are intended to apply not only to the committee’s own reviews and post-management but also to the reviews conducted by private rating agencies, which will take over the rating classification duties in the future.

The committee regulations, which detail operational procedures, have also been revised to expand user participation. The committee will establish a 'Game Advisory Council' to provide advice on game-related policies, rating classifications, and user protection.

Furthermore, the term 'non-profit organizations' has been revised to 'non-profit private organizations' in the provision requiring the collection of opinions when establishing or changing rating criteria. It is specified that this includes organizations engaged in public interest activities related to game use and culture, consumers, society, environment, and education.

In addition, when appointing members to the rating reclassification advisory panel, game users will now be included, formally ensuring user participation in multiple advisory bodies.

A committee official stated, "We plan to continuously improve the rating classification regulations and procedures by gathering input from all sectors, including game users."
