Yangju City Secures 4.15 Billion KRW in Special Adjustment Grants from Gyeonggi Province

Promotion of Nine Projects to Address Local Issues

Gyeonggi Yangju City announced on August 5 that it has secured 4.15 billion KRW in special adjustment grants from Gyeonggi Province for the promotion of local pending projects, providing a foundation to address local issues despite challenging financial conditions.

The projects funded by this round of special adjustment grants for the first half of the year include: ▲Relocation and construction of the Yangju 1-dong Complex Government Office ▲Renovation of the Yangju City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled ▲Construction of the Yangju City Disabled-Friendly National Sports Center (Gyeonggi Modunurijim) ▲Improvement of Yangju City Outdoor Sports Facilities ▲Expansion of the Seonam-ri Urban Planning Road ▲Creation of a Pocket Park utilizing old road sites ▲Installation of landscape sculptures at Okjeong Lake Park ▲Installation of a new open-type public restroom in Baekseok ▲Improvement of safety facilities in children's protection zones, totaling nine projects.
The "Relocation and Construction of the Yangju 1-dong Complex Government Office" project involves moving the Yangju 1-dong government office, which is expected to see a large influx of residents due to the Yangju Station Area Development Project, to the station area development site, aiming to meet the increasing administrative demand.
The "Renovation of the Yangju City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled" project is expected to prevent safety accidents and enhance user convenience by renovating facilities mainly used by vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly.
Upon completion of the "Expansion of the Seonam-ri Urban Planning Road" project, the city expects that securing urban planning roads within densely populated residential areas will greatly improve transportation convenience for local residents.
The "Creation of a Pocket Park utilizing old road sites" project aims to create diverse forest spaces around residential areas, contributing to the provision of rest and leisure spaces for citizens.
The "Improvement of Safety Facilities in Children's Protection Zones" project is expected to significantly help prevent traffic accidents in children's protection zones by installing safety fences and speed enforcement cameras within these areas.
A Yangju City official stated, "We are grateful to the local provincial council members who worked hard to secure this special adjustment grant," and added, "Although it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure budgets due to worsening financial conditions, we will make every effort to secure funding by continuously proposing projects that are truly necessary for our citizens."
