Chairman Park Sunghyo of SEMAS Visits Heavy Rain Damage Sites in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do

Visiting Traditional Markets and Alley-type Shopping Districts

The Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) announced on the 5th that Chairman Park Sunghyo visited Hampyeongcheonji Traditional Market and the alley-type shopping district in Hampyeong-eup, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, to inspect the sites affected by the heavy rainfall and encourage the merchants.

On the 3rd, more than 170mm of torrential rain fell in the Hampyeong area in a single day, resulting in flooding of all 41 stores in Hampyeongcheonji Traditional Market and all 27 stores in the alley-type shopping district. In response, Chairman Park personally inspected the flooded sites, visited the affected stores, offered words of comfort to the merchants, and promised to do his utmost to support recovery efforts.

Chairman Park stated, "I extend my deepest condolences to all the merchants who suffered significant damage due to this heavy rainfall," and added, "We will continue to monitor the situation, devise practical response measures, and do our best to support the recovery efforts."
