December & Company announced on August 5 that it has exclusively launched a retirement pension robo-advisor (RA) discretionary management service in partnership with KB Kookmin Bank.
December & Company emphasized the significance of this collaboration, noting that KB Kookmin Bank has maintained the number one position in accumulated assets in the individual retirement pension (IRP) market for 15 consecutive years. According to the "2024 Retirement Pension Investment White Paper" released by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Financial Supervisory Service, KB Kookmin Bank's IRP assets under management (AUM) stand at 15.6622 trillion won, the highest among banks.
The retirement pension RA discretionary management service is operated by December & Company's proprietary AI investment engine, ISAAC. It is available through KB Kookmin Bank's mobile app, KB Star Banking. The AI analyzes the investor's profile, expected return, risk preference, and retirement timing to design an optimized asset allocation strategy. It also automatically rebalances portfolios according to market conditions, thereby enhancing both the efficiency and convenience of retirement pension management.
December & Company was the first in Korea to introduce an asset allocation strategy-based RA service in 2019, pioneering the era of discretionary personal pension savings investment. As a leading player in the domestic robo-advisory discretionary management market, December & Company has formed partnerships with 11 financial institutions, the highest number in the industry, thanks to its technological capabilities and performance. In April of this year, the company launched retirement pension RA discretionary management services with Samsung Securities and Korea Investment & Securities, and in June, it expanded to NH Nonghyup Bank, thereby extending its reach from securities firms to banks.
By the end of this year, December & Company plans to sequentially launch retirement pension RA discretionary management services with major banks and securities firms, accelerating its market expansion. To this end, the company is leveraging its expertise in long-term asset management to provide stable investment strategies, risk level settings, and the ability to directly issue management instructions such as changing investment strategies, thereby responding to market trends and investor demand.
Song Inseong, CEO of December & Company, stated, "As the importance of retirement pension management increases, demand for RA discretionary management is also rising," adding, "We pursued this collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank, which is particularly strong in the individual IRP segment, to enhance the accessibility and popularity of the Fint service." He continued, "Based on investment strategies that seek a balanced approach to stability and profitability from a long-term perspective, we will set new standards in the retirement pension discretionary management market."
