The Financial Supervisory Service announced on August 4 that, in cooperation with the Korea Life Insurance Association and the General Insurance Association of Korea, it will install a large screen at Gangnam Station, where many hospitals and clinics are concentrated, to promote insurance fraud prevention. Influencers will also be utilized to spread parody promotional materials based on the drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines."

A large display will be set up at Gangnam Station to inform the public that sentencing guidelines have been strengthened, making it possible for medical professionals involved in insurance fraud to face up to life imprisonment.

Promotional efforts will be concentrated in the area between Exits 3 and 6 of Gangnam Station, which serves Subway Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line and sees approximately 4.5 million people pass through each month.

Banner advertisements carrying messages to eradicate insurance fraud will be placed on medical recruitment platforms such as "MediJob," which receives about 370,000 daily visitors, and "MediGate," which has around 50,000 monthly users.

Additionally, influencers specializing in financial content will help spread parody promotional materials inspired by "When Life Gives You Tangerines." Posters with phrases like "You Got Caught with Tangerines" and "You Lost Everything with Tangerines" will be produced.

These posters will also be displayed offline. Nationwide, public campaigns will be conducted through 659 monitors at 101 Emart locations, with posters installed at store entrances, checkout counters, and elevators.

The Financial Supervisory Service previously announced on July 6 that it would conduct intensive insurance fraud prevention campaigns through the end of the year. To root out auto insurance fraud and similar crimes, it created YouTube short-form ads parodying the drama "Squid Game" for promotional purposes.

The Financial Supervisory Service, together with the Korea Life Insurance Association and the General Insurance Association of Korea, plans to carry out the campaign without delay and will distribute a total of four serialized press releases covering insurance fraud cases and consumer response strategies. Various public awareness initiatives, including banner ads and interactive events, will continue.

The public will be informed about various types of insurance fraud, such as duplicate or false claims for car repair costs and false claims for indemnity insurance disguised as manual therapy.

The Financial Supervisory Service urged the public to actively report suspected cases of insurance fraud to either the Financial Supervisory Service or the insurance companies' insurance fraud reporting centers.

A Financial Supervisory Service official stated, "In addition to promotional and preventive activities to combat insurance fraud, we will actively cooperate and respond jointly with the police, the National Health Insurance Service, the Korea Life Insurance Association, the General Insurance Association of Korea, and insurance companies to ensure strict punishment for insurance fraud."
